Humane Society of North Texas

The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) is much more than an animal shelter; we’re a resource to our entire community. Our goal is to improve the lives of North Texas pets and the people who love them. That is why we offer a variety of innovative, affordable and lifesaving services to our community.

HSNT does more with less, and is funded entirely by private donations. We accept animals no matter where their owner resides or how full the shelter is. We build strategic and innovative programs to place (or keep!) pets in loving homes, and this year—despite challenges of a worldwide pandemic—we attained a live release rate of 95%.

The board, staff and volunteers are motivated by their unifying belief: kindness for animals is part of what it means to be human. HSNT is the largest animal shelter in Tarrant County, saving thousands of pets that are homeless, neglected, or injured. In 2020, HSNT touched the lives of approx. 16,000 pets. We found homes for 8,871 pets, completed or funded 8,103 spay and neuter surgeries, and saved more than 200 pets from cruelty.
