Humane Society of North Texas
The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) is much more than an animal shelter; we're a resource to our entire community. Our goal is to improve the lives of North Texas pets and the people who love them. That is why we offer a variety of innovative, affordable and lifesaving services to our community.
HSNT does more with less, and is funded entirely by private donations. We accept animals no matter where their owner resides or how full the shelter is. We build strategic and innovative programs to place (or keep!) pets in loving homes, In 2023 we attained a live release rate of 97%.
The board, staff and volunteers are motivated by their unifying mission: "To save, shelter, protect and advocate for all animals in need in North Texas. HSNT is the largest animal shelter in Tarrant County, saving thousands of pets that are homeless, neglected, or injured. In 2023, HSNT touched the lives of approx. 17,334 pets. We found homes for 6,845 pets, completed or funded 8,443 spay and neuter surgeries, and fostered more than 1,300 pets.
